Top Judicial Official the presiding justice said the move to detain the elderly politician was a precautionary step after "new facts" were revealed.
This involved seeking to disable his tracking device and a summons to a demonstration that could "allow for a potential flight.
Court Filing Details Escape Concerns
In a filing authorising the custody, the magistrate said data from the centre monitoring his home detention suggested the former leader's plan to remove the electronic ankle bracelet to guarantee victory in his flight.

The judicial paperwork emphasizes that the US embassy in the capital, the capital city, is situated around approximately 13 kilometers from his dwelling.
